Troubleshooting

Problem
Red charging LED does not illuminate and Battery (9) not
charging
Battery pack has low capacity
Drill cannot be switched on (Speed Control Trigger Switch
(13) does not move)
Drill does not start when Speed Control Trigger Switch is
depressed
Screws do not reach deep enough into the workpiece
Screws are driven too deep into the workpiece surface
During masonry drilling the drill bit does not penetrate
the wall
Possible cause
Battery not correctly inserted
Charger not powered
Battery not being fully charged
Battery pack has been charged over 100 times and
capacity has started to reduce
The Forward/Reverse Switch (6) may be in the middle
('locked') position
Battery completely discharged
Defective Battery
Machine defective
Not enough torque; torque clutch setting too low
Low battery voltage
Too much torque; torque clutch setting too high
Unsuitable or blunt drill bit
Drill bit too large
Drill not set to hammer mode

Solution
Clean battery socket of charger
Recheck mains connection
Charge the Battery until the charger indicates a full charge
This is normal for battery packs. Contact your GMC dealer to
purchase a replacement battery pack
Slide the Forward/Reverse Switch either to the left or right
Recharge battery or replace with a fully charged Battery
Replace Battery
Contact your GMC dealer or authorised service centre
Choose a higher torque setting
Recharge Battery or replace with a fully charged Battery
Choose a lower torque setting
Replace drill bit with a new high quality masonry drill bit

Rotate mode selector to switch the machine into hammer drill
mode (see 'Mode Selection')
