14.2 Vehicle Preparation
Before proceeding with the photometric analysis, make sure the vehicle is in
suitable conditions so that the result will not be jeopardised by external factors.
Make sure the parking brake remains engaged throughout the
operations on the vehicle.
Make sure that:
• the headlights are clean and dry;
• the vehicle wheels are straight;
• there are not any elements that may compromise the correct vehicle conditions
(e.g. mud, snow, ice, etc.);
• there are not any chassis distortions;
• the tyre pressure is set to the value indicated by the manufacturer;
• the vehicle manufacturer's indications are respected (e.g. full tank, person on the
driver seat, etc.);
• the vehicle is on a flat surface.
LIGHTING DEPTH
In the vehicles with manual control of the lighting depth:
• set the controller to "0".
In the vehicles with automatic control of the lighting depth:
• use a diagnostic tool to set the headlights to the basic position established by the
manufacturer.
NOTE:
In the vehicles with pneumatic suspensions , leave the engine running for
approximately 5 minutes before starting the analysis and keep the engine
running throughout the test, even while adjusting the headlights.
