4.3 - RETURN SIGNAL SETUP
1. From the appropriate return signal injection place, send a measured signal in the reverse band from
a sweep generator or a multicarrier generator, or send the entire system's reverse way TV carriers.
Make sure the signal level at the injection ports complies with the engineering calculations.
2. Connect a spectrum analyzer on the internal F test port. In relation to the real level of the return
signal at port A, the measured level is at:
3. By means of both the ATR gain control and ECR slope control set the return signal level to that
established by the engineering calculations. If despite turning ATR fully counterclockwise the level
is still above the design value, configurate an additional interstage 6 dB flat attenuation by changing
the third link of the ALSC/RW/INGRESS group from its initial position indicated as 5 to the one
indicated as 6 (see Fig. 11). The level should be under the desired one; then set the design value by
turning ATR clockwise.
4. Disconnect the spectrum analyzer from the internal test port.
DISABLING
The return path may be disabled by placing the second and third links of the ALSC/RW/INGRESS group in the
positions indicated as 3 and 6 (see Fig. 12).
5 — CLOSING THE HOUSING
5.1 - CLOSING
Dry any moist area and make sure that no particles interfere with the sealing surfaces.
1. Replace the lid and do a preliminary tightening of the four screws T using a number 10 spanner
following the sequence indicated in the Fig. 13 on page 33. Carry out a second tightening
operation in the same way, making sure that the lid sits evenly on the rubber gasket.
2. Once more in the same sequence, torque 5 Nm (50 kg.cm) the four screws. The lid should sit
evenly to create a weatherproof seal.
3. For outdoor installations, ensure total watertightness of the RF connections using appropriate
means (e.g. self-bonding electrician's tape).
5.2 - GROUNDING
The two clamps for strand mounting at the upper side of the housing may be also used for connecting
a ground strand (see Fig. 14).
-30 ±1 dB if input bypass port has not been configurated;
-18 ±1 dB if -2.7 dB input bypass port has been configurated;
-25.5 ±1 dB if -4.5 dB input bypass port has been configurated.
