4.3 Terminal fitting
Any ATEX certified terminal "Ex e" to EN 60079-7 can be used. Terminals
shall be rail or internal plate mounted. Terminals must be installed in
accordance with the operating instructions issued by the respective
manufacturer and in compliance with requirements for clearance/creepage,
cross-connections and earthing.
All wiring must be carried out in accordance with the code of practice
and/or instructions of EN 60079-14.
Use the correct size of tool for tightening the terminal clamps
(screwdriver or spanner).
Terminals shall be rail or internal plate mounted. Terminals must be
installed in accordance with the operating instructions issued by the
respective manufacturer and in compliance with requirements for
clearance/creepage, cross-connections and earthing.
Creepage and clearance distances shall comply with EN 60079-7 and the
voltage, current and maximum dissipated power shall not exceed the
maximum allowed.
The maximum number of terminals is determined by:
- the physical dimensions – see Table 2A and 2B
- the minimum clearance and creepage distances between the terminals
and the enclosure walls
- the heating at the terminal points: the enclosure must be used
respecting the maximum certified power dissipation related to a given
temperature class, to be determined with specific thermal type tests
during the certification of the whole apparatus – see instructions in the
component certificate.
Care must be taken to ensure that the size of the enclosure can
accommodate the cable bending radius.
4.4 Drilling area
The maximum number of holes that can be installed in a wall depends
on the possible harmful effect of the holes on the mechanical strength
of the enclosure. The permitted drilling areas (see Tab. 3) shall
accomodate a number of cable glands in accordance with approved
clearances for gland sizes (see Tab. 5).
4.5 Cable Glands
Use only Ex e and/or Ex tD A21 approved glands (as relevant). If glands
of lower IP rating are used, then the whole unit is automatically derated
to the same value of the glands. Ensure that all the glands selected are
suitable for the cable so as to prevent self-loosening and ensure
permanent sealing to avoid moisture ingress.
Seal washers may be used to improve the seal between the gland body
and the enclosure.
All unused cable entries must be sealed with their associated approved
blind plugs.
The maximum number of cable glands that can be fitted is indicated on Table 4.
Note: the data given below does not apply to glands for armoured cable.
5. Servicing and maintenance and repairing
Inspection and maintenance of this equipment shall be carried
out by suitably trained personnel in accordance with the
applicable code of practice (e.g.EN 60079-17 and EN 61241-17).
Repair of this equipment shall be carried out by suitably trained
personnel in accordance with the applicable code of practice (e.g. EN
60079-19). During servicing, it is particularly important to check those
components upon which the type of protection depends.
5.1 Routine Maintenance
Routine maintenance is required in order to guarantee the efficiency of
the enclosure and to maintain the required level of protection.
1) Check that the lid seal is in place and not damaged
each time the enclosure is opened
2) Check that all the lid fixing screws are in place and secured

each time the enclosure is closed
3) Check that the mounting screws/bolts are tight and free of corrosion
annually
4) Check the security of all cable glands annually
5) Check the enclosure for damage annually
6) In zones with presence of combustible dusts it is necessary to
periodically clean the upper surface of the box, limiting the depth of
the layer to less than 5 mm.
5.2 Chemical attack
Consideration should be given to the environment in which these
enclosures are to be used to determine the suitability of these materials
to withstand any corrosive agents that may be present.
5.3 Disposal
Disposal and recycling of the product shall be done according to national
regulations for waste disposal and recycling.

L'INSTALLATION
1. Normes de sécurité
Les composants à sécurité renforcée de la série ZENITH P sont
utilisés pour les installations fixes dans les environnements à
risque potentiel d'explosion identifiés comme Zone 1 ou 2 selon la
norme EN 60079-0 ainsi que comme Zone 21 ou 22 selon la norme
EN 61241-0.
Ces instructions d'installation, utilisation et entretien doivent être
conservées dans un endroit sûr en vue de toute consultation
future. Durant le fonctionnement ou les opérations d'entretien du
composant, ne pas laisser ce manuel ou d'autres objets à l'intérieur
du composant.
Utiliser les composants à sécurité renforcée de la série ZENITH P
exclusivement pour un usage approuvé et les conserver en parfait
état et propres.
Les composants sont conçus pour résister à un choc de 7J et pour
être utilisés dans des conditions de vibration normales. Ils ne sont
pas projetés pour une utilisation dans des environnements soumis à
des conditions de vibration extrêmes.
Le matériau du composant est du polyester renforcé fibre de verre. La
présence de graphite garantit une résistance superficielle comprise
entre 106 e 109 Ω et élimine le risque de décharges électrostatiques.
En cas d'assemblage incorrect, le type de protection ne peut être garanti.
Utiliser uniquement des pièces de rechange originales fournies par SCAME.
Aucune modification/usinage n'est autorisé sur le composant sauf
indication expresse de ce manuel.
Se conformer rigoureusement aux règles anti-accidents
nationales et aux instructions de sécurité de ce manuel pour
toute intervention sur le composant.
2. Conformité aux normes
Les composants à sécurité renforcée type ZENITH P sont destinés à
l'usage suivant :
- Zone 1 et 2 (EN60079-0:2006, EN60079-7:2007, EN60079-11:2007)
- Zone 21 et 22 (EN61241-0:2006, EN61241-1:2004)
Les composants sont réalisés et soumis à essai selon des techniques
de production optimales et modernes et conformément aux normes
de qualité ISO 9001.
