4. Install Cable Into Pipe (continued)
B. If the Pull Cord is installed at the End Seal end:
• Pull cable into pipe such that End Seal and Pull Cord are exposed at the end of the pipe.
• Remove electrical tape and Pull Cord using caution not to cut cable Outer Jacket. Do not remove shrink
tubes securing Pull Cord – just cut Pull Cord and remove.
• For non-serviceable End Seals, push heating cable back into pipe such that End Seal is inside the pipe
and at least 30 cm (12") from the end of the pipe. For reference, refer to the footmarks.
• For serviceable End Seals, cut the Temporary Moisture Seal off. Pull the End Seal out of the Compression
Fitting Assembly such that it extends at least 30 cm (12") beyond the Compression Fitting Assembly and
install the End Seal. See Page 9 for End Seal Installation Instructions.
• Cut cable at Power Splice end such that it extends at least 30 cm (12") beyond Compression
• Fitting Assembly. For reference, refer to the Footmarks.
Note: For applications where one single cable is fed through the Compression Fitting Assembly, please
ensure that the Grommet Plug is fully inserted into the Grommet. See diagram below.
Disassemble Compression Fitting Assembly and thread the cable through it, then tighten Compression Base
onto Start Plumbing Fitting using appropriate sealant, such as Teflon tape, and torque as required. Install
Compression Grommet and Compression Bushing over cable towards Compression Base, then install
Compression Cap and tighten. Significant force may be required to compress Compression Grommet to
get threads of Compression Cap started. Tighten Compression Cap with appropriate wrench to 2.7 Nm
(24 in-lbs) - or until Compression Cap makes contact with Compression Base. Refer to page 3.
• Do not allow open end of cable to come into contact with water – this will damage cable and may
result in electrical shock and/or cable failure.
