the pump induces large pulsation and jetter hose vibration,
which will ease hose advancement.
1. Rotate the pulse actuator lever clockwise (KJ-1590 II
anticlockwise) to induce the pulse (fi gure 8).
2. While in the pulse mode, again rotate the hose
to align the set with the bend. This technique will
normally overcome stubborn bends and traps.
NOTE: in the pulse mode pressure will drop.
3. Once through the bend or trap, return the pulse
control actuator lever to the OFF position. Continue
the jetter head's advance.

Encountering blockages

1. If the jetter nozzle does not pass right through the
blockage, combine the pulse action of the pump
with manual manipulation of the hose.
2. Once through the obstruction, pass the jetter
nozzle back and forth several times (preferably with
the pulse OFF) through that section of the drain to
ensure thorough cleaning. Then advance the nozzle
several feet further down the line before retrieving
the hose.

"Jet cleaning" or "Jetting" the line

The jetter's cleaning action occurs by the nozzle orifi ces
directing high-pressure water at the walls of the drain to
the full inside line diameter. (This same pressure produces
the thrust that pushes the nozzle down the line.) The slower
the jetter hose is retrieved the better the results.
1. Make sure the pulse actuator is OFF. This will
maximise the pressure and fl ow at the nozzle (fi gure
8).
2. Slowly retrieve the jetter hose and clean the inside
walls of the drain.
NOTE: If at any time during the jetting process the pressure
oscillates up and down between 7 and 80/150/205 bar,
stop the jetter:
Turn the jetter and water supply OFF. Remove the
jetter nozzle and check the nozzle orifi ces. (They
are probably blocked). Clean them with a nozzle-
cleaning tool by pushing the proper size wire
completely through each thruster orifi ce.
If the problem persists, remove the nozzle and insert
the hose into the drain. Check the inlet fi lter screen
at the inlet port and make sure it is clean. Restart to
fl ush the system of any trapped air or debris that
could be hampering the unit's operation.

Use of foot valve, option
The water jetters can be used for indoor or remote
applications where the operator must be away from the
unit.
NOTE: for safety reasons and to ease operation, operator
could have an assistant stationed at jetter at all times.
1. Position the jetter in the appropriate outdoor
location.
2. Connect the hose reel connection hose (KJ-3000)
or the 1/8" hose (KJ-2200 and KJ-1590 II) to the foot
valve connection marked out. (NOTE: with the
KJ-3000 you can also move the hose reel to the
indoor or remote drain access area.)
3. Attach the interconnect hose (or any other hose
with the proper pressure ratings) to the jetter
quick connect and the other end to the connection
marked in.
4. Operate the jetter, the foot valve must be activated
to adjust system pressure.
