MENU, ENTER, ARROW Buttons
Pressing the MENU button once will place the
CP-65 in Set-up mode. The ARROW buttons and
the ENTER button are used to navigate in set-up
mode. See Display Setup page 25 and
Programming/Setup page 26 for a detailed
explanation of these functions.
OUTPUT
Pressing OUTPUT once will cause the CP-65
Remote Control Preamplifier to display the
selected OUTPUT (1). Pressing OUTPUT a second
time will cause the unit to select the next
OUTPUT (2). Pressing OUTPUT a third time will
select both outputs.
MUTE
Pressing the MUTE button will toggle the active
outputs between MUTE and active mode.
VOLUME
Pressing the up and down VOLUME buttons
causes the active outputs to increase or decrease
the output from the unit.
BALANCE
Pressing the left or right ARROW keys once will
cause the CP-65 Remote Control Preamplifier to
display the current status of the BALANCE
control. Pressing either the left or right ARROW
keys again will change the BALANCE control in
the selected direction.
Selecting inputs
Press the LINE/BAL keys on the remote control to
select between either of the LINE (RCA) and
BALANCED (XLR) inputs. The left arrow (<) and
right arrow (>) front panel buttons are also used
to select the available inputs. As shown in the
illustration below, each time the ARROW key on
the front panel is pressed the CP-65 Remote
Control Preamplifier advances to the next input.
The front panel display shows the selected input
by illuminating LINE 1-3, BAL 1-3 on the front
panel display.
When a TAPE input is selected, the currently
selected LINE or BALANCED input is maintained
as the TAPE source input and the selected TAPE is
automatically switched to the output.

Controlling the display
The CP-65 Preamplifier display function can be
changed using keys on the remote control as
follows:
DISP
Pressing the DISP key on the remote control will
cause the display to toggle between 3 levels. The
DISPLAY will only turn OFF if you have
programmed it to in the DISPLAY setup. In OFF
mode, nothing will be illuminated on the main-
unit front panel display unless a key on the top
panel or the remote control is pressed. When the
DISPLAY In ON mode, the display remains
illuminated during operation.
Display Setup
To enter the DISPLAY menu press the MENU key
on the remote control to enter SETUP. Once in
setup mode the top half of the display will show
SETUP. The bottom of the display will show
INPUTS. Use the up and down ARROW keys to
toggle through the three available setup menus
(INPUTS, SYSTEM, DISPLAY). Select the DISPLAY
menu and confirm the selection by pressing the
right ARROW key. The display will change to
show DISPLAY on top and NORMAL on the
bottom. Pressing the up and down ARROW key
will toggle the display menu between the
NORMAL and OFF menu. NORMAL operation
mode will allow you to toggle the display
through 3 brightness levels but not turn the
display off. To enable the CP-65 to automatically
turn off the display after a programmed time of
5 to 99 seconds you must enter the OFF menu.
Repeat the above instructions to enter the
DISPLAY menus. Select the OFF menu and and
confirm your selection by pressing the right
ARROW key. The Display will change to show
OFF on top and the off timer on the bottom. Use
the up and down ARROW keys to select the time
you desire between 5 and 99 seconds. Once you
have selected the time press ENTER to save your
selection. The bottom of the display will show
STORED as a confirmation. To exit SETUP press
the MENU key.

Programming/Setup
Several programming setup features allow you to
customize your CP-65 Remote Control
Preamplifier. Programming keys are on the
remote control.
To Enter Setup
Press the MENU key on the remote control. Once
in setup mode the top half of the display will
show SETUP. The bottom of the display will show
INPUTS.
Changing Inputs
In setup mode pressing the right ARROW key will
select the inputs MENU. The bottom half of the
display will change with each selection made
using the UP and DOWN ARROW keys. Once the
desired input is selected, pressing the right
ARROW key on the remote control will allow you
to access the LEVEL and NAME menu for that
input.
Customizing selected input
Once the selected input is confirmed the display
will show the SELECTED INPUT on top half and
the LEVEL on the bottom half.
To change the DEFAULT NAME press the up or
down ARROW key on the remote control once
and confirm the selection by pressing the right
ARROW key. This will cause the CP-65 Remote
Control Preamplifier to enter the NAME menu.
The top half of the display will show NAME and
bottom will be the default name for he current
input. To scroll through the preset names use the
up or down ARROW keys. To confirm the
selected name press ENTER and the bottom of
the display will change to show that the new
name has been saved and the display will change
to STORED. To enter the LEVEL menu press the
left ARROW key once. The display will show the
selected input on the top and LEVEL on the
bottom. Press the right ARROW key to confirm
this selection and the display will change to show
LEVEL on top and ADJUST on the bottom half.
