Set this entry to YES for each tank that has a probe installed.
To ensure proper calculation of TC volume, you must enter the Coefficient of Thermal Expansion for the fuel in
each tank. The following table lists the U.S. and Metric (M) thermal coefficients for approved fuels and liquids:
PRODUCT
Aviation Gas
Regular Unleaded
Premium
Leaded
Gasohol
Jet Fuel
Kerosene (fuel oil #1)
Diesel (fuel oil #2)
Motor Oil
Alcohol
Enter the inside diameter of the selected tank (for a linear tank, the tank height = tank diameter). You can find this
dimension on the Tank Chart. Range: 0.00 to 144.00 inches (0.0 to 3657.6 mm).
Use this display to select the number of height/volume values you wish to enter for the tank. Options are 1, 4, or
Linear. The system will use these values, along with the Tank Diameter, to calculate volume readings at heights
along the entire length of the probe. Use the following guidelines to enter the Tank Profile:
- Steel (flat-ended) tank - 1 point
- Fiberglass tank - 4 points
- Cylindrical tank standing on end - Linear
- Rectangular tank - Linear
- Fiberglass tank - 20 points
All tanks must have the volume at 100% diameter entered. If you entered 1 Point or Linear for Tank Profile above,
the next display will be the Tilt entry. If you entered 4 points or 20 points for Tank Profile you will have to enter the
full volume (this entry) and in addition, volumes for each of the remaining points (3 or 19) depending on which
profile you selected. Each of the heights (points) have been calculated by the TLS-50. As you step through the
points (3 or 19), you enter the volume from the tank chart for the displayed height. Range: 0 - 260,000 gallons (0 -
984,000 litres). NOTE: if 4 or 20 point profiles are selected and all points are not entered, the volume will compute
to zero.
If you selected 4 or 20 points in the Profile display above, you must enter the volume at the
T1: XXXX.X MM VOL
level of the tank shown in the top line of this display. Enter the volume at this height from
000000 LIT
the tank chart. Range for each point: 0 - 260,000 gallons (0 - 984,000 litres).
T1: XXXX.X MM VOL
Continue to enter the volumes for each of the remaining points.
