If the filtered water is in the decanter for longer
than 24 hours, limescale rims may form due to
evaporation. These are easily removed when
cleaning however.
If more than 3 litres of water are filtered in a row, we
recommend stopping for at least 15 minutes. The
filter cartridge does not need to be in constant contact
with water in order to guarantee its functionality.
If you are asked by the authorities to boil tap water
as a result of contamination, this also applies to
the filtered water from the decanter, and before
the filtering process. As soon as the tap water is
officially classified as safe again, the water filtra-
tion system must be cleaned and the filter cartridge
must be replaced.
The filtered water should be boiled before filtering
for certain groups of people, such as people with a
weakened immune system, and when preparing
infant formula.
For hygiene reasons, the filter cartridge also contains
small amounts of silver. A small amount of silver
may be released into the water. It is harmless and
complies with the World Health Organisation's
(WHO) relevant recommendations for drinking
water. The filter cartridge should be replaced at the
latest 4 weeks after its first use in order to avoid
any contamination.

Filter Cartridge Effectiveness
The useful life of a filter cartridge varies because
water quality is not the same everywhere. The total
hardness of the cartridge for hardness retention
depends on the hardness of the water. The harder
the water, the faster the cartridge is depleted.
The capacity of the long-life Mg2+ cartridge is
120 litres with a total water hardness of between
15 and 17.8°d.
Replace the cartridge at least every four weeks.
Substances such as lead and copper which are
reduced by the filter are not present in all drinking
water.
The water filter fulfils the microbiological require-
ments of water filters in accordance with DIN
10521 in terms of chlorine, lead and copper reten-
tion capability.
Information Regarding Cartridge Replacement
The filter decanter is equipped with an automatic
change indicator. To activate the consumption
indicator, press the button for about five seconds.
From now on the duration of cartridge use will be
calculated. The LED display in the lid uses the
colours of the traffic light system to indicate
whether you can still use the cartridge. At the
latest, the cartridge should be changed after four
weeks to avoid contamination, regardless of
whether the number of fillings has been exhausted.
So in the first 3 weeks of use the colour green is
shown, in the 4th week the colour orange and in
the 5th week the colour red – this means that you
shouldn't use the cartridge any more.
In order to return to the initial colour „green" after
replacing the cartridge, press the button for
approximately 5 seconds.
Information Regarding Cleaning, Care and Storage
With every cartridge replacement, we recommend
cleaning the decanter, funnel and lid with slightly
soapy water and then rinsing thoroughly with
warm water in accordance with the operating
instructions.
Please always keep replacement filter cartridges in
the original foil packaging.
Store in a cool and dry place and keep protected
from sunlight.
Disposal Information
Please separate packaging materials such as plastic
film and cardboard. This will help contribute to
environmental conservation.
Dispose of used filter cartridges and filter fillings in
household waste.
The cartridge change indicator is an electronic
component that must be disposed of according to
local regulations and statutory provisions. To
dispose of the battery, remove the flip lid from the
holder, untwist the battery housing by hand and
remove the battery – then dispose of it properly.
Then fully close the battery housing again to
prevent moisture penetrating. Finally, press the flip
lid back into the holder.
