Installing
the Ductwork
Use galvanized
or aluminum
duct in 6" round
or 3½"
x 10" size, or a combination
of both. PVC duct should
be used if installing
under a poured
concrete
slab.
Use the shortest
and straightest
duct run possible.
For satisfactory
performance,
the duct run should
not exceed
100 feet equivalent
length.
Refer to the
"Calculating
Duct Length"
chart for equivalent
lengths.
(see page 14). All duct joints should
be fastened
with a
screw and sealed
with tape
as shown in Figure 5.
NOTE:
Local building
code must be followed
in
specifying
approved
type and schedule
of ALL duct
used. Always
use an appropriate
roof or wall cap with
damper.
