Introduction to the ComputerTelephony Adapter 160i
The Norstar Computer Telephony Adapter 160i (CTA 160i) is a peripheral device which
connects a Windows compatible personal computer (PC) or server to the Norstar KSU. It
allows you to use computer telephony applications such as Norstar Personal Call
Manager.
What is in the box
Check the contents of your CTA 160i package to make sure you have all of the parts
shown in the diagram below.

Installation overview
When you install the CTA 160i, install the software first and then install the hardware.
This allows you to take full advantage of the Plug and Play capability of the CTA 160i.
To install the CTA 160i:
• Install the CTA 160i software
• Install the CTA 160i in your PC
• Connect the CTA 160i
Install the CTA 160i software
You must install the telephony software before you install and connect the CTA 160i. The
CTA 160i operates with a variety of computer telephony applications.
Note: If you have an earlier release of Personal Productivity Suite software on your PC, you
must uninstall the old release of software before you install the new Personal
Productivity Suite software. For information about uninstalling the software, please
refer to the uninstall instructions located on the Personal Productivity Suite CD-ROM.
