mounting bolts under the filter base (fig. 5A). For
this purpose the filter base can be lifted using a
crane or fork-lift truck.
Put the SCS level using the adjusting feet (fig. 5C).
Extend the adjusting feet min. 70 mm due to the
height of the drum.
Mount the bush on the drum and lock everything
using a drum flange. Subsequently position it under
the SCS and mount the bush using a hose clamp air
tight to the drum connection. Make sure the stop
valve is open.
Subsequently connect the air inlet of the SCS to:
- the air outlet of the pre-separator
or:
- the air duct system (supply line)
Connect the air outlet to a duct system (discharge
line) which returns the air to the workshop area or
which discharges the air outside if it should not be
recycled.
Finally check whether the suction system is
airtight.

7.2.2 Electrical connection (SCS)

The SCS is controlled by the control box (CB-SCS).
This control box must be fitted with a supply cable
with earthed mains plug.
CAUTION
.
Make sure that the system is suitable for
!
connection to the local mains. Information
about the connection voltage and frequency
can be found on the identification plate. The
cables must be connected in conformance
with the local rules and regulations and can
only be carried out by well qualified and
authorised technicians. If the control box
(CB-SCS) is integrated in a fixed installation
the use of a mains separation device is
obligatory. Make sure that the grounding is
correct.
Loosen the mounting screws and remove the cover.
Lead the supply cable through the grommet
("
") and connect in conformance with the
MAINS
electric diagram.
Retighten the cover using the mounting screws.
Switch on the mains.
During installation of the unit, check whether the
programmed times of the time controlled operation
are actually functional.

7.2.3 Compressed air connection (SCS)

The SCS is standard fitted with a pressure reducing
valve. The cleaning mechanism uses a recommended
operating pressure of 400-500 kPa (4-5 bar). Make
sure that the operating pressure is always between
these values. When the working pressure is too high
(>7 bar) the safety valve opens automatically.
Check whether sufficient compressed air on behalf
of the filter cleaning is available during the whole
day.
For "
-
" cleaning, check whether sufficient

LINE
compressed air is available, also outside working

hours.
CAUTION
.
Prevent damage to the cleaning mechanism.
!
Make sure that the compressed air is free
from oil and moisture.
Connect the compressed air hose to the coupling
which is situated next to the CB-SCS control box.
7.2.4 Installation (pre-separator PSC)
The pre-separator must be installed in front of
.
the inlet of the SCS.
Mount the pre-separator to the air duct system
(supply line) using an elbow (Ø 630 mm) or
reducing piece (Ø 400/630 mm). For this purpose
adjust the air outlet in such a way that the air outlet
of the pre-separator is in line with the air inlet of the
SCS.
Subsequently connect the air outlet tight to the air
inlet of the SCS.
Mount the bush on the drum and lock this using a
drum flange. Position it under the pre-separator and
fasten the bush using the hose clamp air-tight to
the pre-separator. Check everything for air-
tightness.

Before use carefully read the safety

instructions. Determine based on the local
regulations and the welding process applied
whether or not materials can be recycled.

Control panel

The control panel (fig 6) is situated on the CB-SCS
control box and is fitted with the following controls and
indicators:
A Buzzer
In an alarm situation the buzzer emits an interrupted
signal.
B Indicator
The indicator can indicate three different modes:
- The indicator blinks at a high frequency
("
") when the system is electrically
STANDBY
connected, consequently the SCS is ready for
use.
- The indicator continuously lights ("
indicate that the SCS is carrying out the cleaning
process.
- The indicator blinks at a low frequency ("
to indicate that the filters are saturated and
cannot be cleaned, or that the air pressure is too
low to clean the filters. To inform the user about
this, the buzzer sounds as well.
