The central filter system -inclusive the optional pre-
separator- consists of the following main components
(see fig. 4):
A cleaning mechanism with quick air relief valve
B filters
C air distribution plate
D air inlet
E filter base
F bush with lid
G drum
H reducing valve with compressed air coupling

CB-SCS (control box with control panel)
J pre-separator PSC (option)

Operation
Below you find a description of the operation
.
of the central filter system which assumes
that a pre-separator has been installed.
The welding fume is blown/extracted into the pre-
separator (fig. 4J) by one or more external extraction
fan(s) via an air duct system. The pre-separator
ensures that the larger particles and sparks are
separated and end up in the drum (fig. 4G).
Subsequently the air leaves the pre-separator and
arrives via the air inlet (fig. 4D) in the central filter
system. Here the air is evenly distributed by the air
distribution plate (fig. 4C) and subsequently cleaned by
the filters (fig. 4B) with a total filter surface of
2
approximately 150 m
in which almost all particles
(from 0,3 µm) are caught.
Via de air outlet in the filter base (fig. 4E) the cleaned
air leaves the filter system and if desired it can be
returned to the workshop or discharged outside.
When the filters become heavily saturated -and
consequently the extraction capacity strongly reduces-
, the filters are cleaned. For this purpose the central
filter system has three possibilities:
- fully automatic cleaning: as soon as, caused by
saturation, the pressure increases a pressure
difference swith activates the RoboCleanPlus
compressed air cleaning mechanism which
thoroughly cleans the filter using section controlled
compressed air shots (see par. 8.2.1);
- manual cleaning, in which the cleaning process can
be started at any time by pressing the push button
(see par. 8.2.3);
- time controlled cleaning, in which the intervals
between the cleaning cycles can be set using a time
switch (see par. 8.2.4).
The dust and dirt particles which are released during
these cleaning processes always fall in the drum (fig.
4G).
For applications with high dust concentrations it is
0507340010/SCS/050704/B
recommended to clean the filters while the fan(s) is/are
switched off. This is the so-called "
procedure. It is advised to start this procedure one hour
before or one hour after working hours.

INSTALLATION
7.1
Unpacking
Check that the product is complete. The package
should contain:
central filter system (SCS) with control box (CB-
SCS)
carrying frame (set) with mounting bolts
drum, drum flange and bush
user manual
electric diagram (CB-SCS)
supplier's documentation (in CB-SCS)
For the (optional) pre-separator also:
pre-separator (PSC)
drum, drum flange and bush
If parts seem to be missing or damaged, contact your
supplier.
7.2
Mounting
CAUTION!
.
Ensure that, if the SCS must be positioned
!
outside, there is sufficient protection against
rain and moisture.
Do not position the SCS where it is exposed
to vibrations or heat radiation from heat
sources. Observe the earlier described
ambient conditions.
Preferably mount the SCS using the pre-separator
(PSC). For mounting the pre-separator, see par.
7.2.4.
If for each extraction arm a separate extraction fan
is applied, every time a non-return valve must be
placed between the extraction fan and the air duct
system. In this way you prevent that the extracted
air leaves the system via another extraction arm.
Make sure that there is sufficient room around the
system with respect to service and repair activities.
CAUTION!
.
Before positioning the system, check that the
!
underground is strong enough. The net
weight of the SCS inclusive of the pre-
separator is 300 kg.
7.2.1 Installation (SCS)
Make sure there is sufficient space above the
.
SCS (min. 750 mm); when replacing the
filters they must be removed via the top.
Mount the carrying frame (fig. 5B) using the
