(Optional) If desired, to further secure the slide assemblies, you can install the four 10-32 x
0.5-inch flange-head Phillips screws and centering washers that came with the 1-U keyboard
tray kit. Mount a centering washer on each screw and install the screw through the center
square hole for each rail into the screw hole in the mounting-bracket flange. See Figure 1-4.

Installing the 1-U Keyboard Tray in the Rack

Pull the left- and right-slide rails out of the slide assemblies until you feel the rails lock in the
fully extended position.

Align the 1-U keyboard tray rails with the fronts of the slide rails, insert the tray rails into the
slide rails, and push the tray steadily into the rack (you may need to give an extra push at one
point to overcome the locking mechanism). See Figure 1-5.
