Extractor stop
The furnace features a power outlet on its side (A) to connect directly a fume extractor (R-080125) or
a catalytic converter (R-080124). The extractor will operate until the temperature stored in the
controls is reached. The device is factory supplied with a stopping temperature of 850 ºC. This
temperature can be easily modified as follows:
Keep the SET key pressed for 3 seconds. The lower display will show the message "Al1", stop of
•
the extractor.
Use the
keys to select the extractor stopping temperature. You can use the
•
digit.
Keep the SET key pressed for 3 seconds to store the programming.
•
Once the extractor stopping temperature has been reached, it will stop and the pilot light (E) will light
up.
OPERATION
Place the SiO
hearth-plate on the hearth, taking care not to damage the muffle.
•

Put in the cylinders and crucibles to be heated. When the furnace is operating, always use
•
gauntlets and tongs. Talleres Mestraitúa, S.L. recommends MESTRA tongs.
To program the furnace, follow the steps explained in the previous section.
•
The pilot (D) will light up when the controls are powering the heating resistor.
Shut the door. The furnace will start heating.
•
Once the set point temperature has been reached within the programmed time, this temperture will
•
be kept
for the programmed waiting time.
At the end of the process, remove the cylinders and crucibles carefully. While the unit is running
•
the outer housing may heat up. The cylinders and crucibles also heat up considerably, and so
gauntlets and tongs should be used when handling them.
Use the main (C) switch to disconnect the furnace from the mains.
•
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
To ensure long, reliable operation of the unit, proceed as follows:
Clean the outside of the furnace regularly with a cloth.
•
Take care not to damage the muffle lining the inside walls of the furnace hearth when you put in or
•
take out cylinders and crucibles.
Always use the SiO
•
Prevent liquids or solids from contaminating or dirtying the muffle of the furnace.
•
To make best use of the unit, TALLERES MESTRAITUA, S.L. recommends the use of MESTRA
•
cylinders and crucibles.
The furnace has two circuit breakers located near the cable (J and K) to protect the furnace
•
against electric overloads. To get the furnace working again, reset the circuit breaker.
PRECAUTIONS
♦ Before connecting the unit ensure that the power outlet is for 230 V, 50/60 Hz, and that it is
earthed. It must also be properly protected by a thermal magnetic cut-out (consult your installer).
♦ Do not allow children or unskilled personnel to handle the unit.
♦ Always keep the door closed while the furnace is operating.
