Battery Compartment (on the back of the scales)

The battery in the battery compartment has been secured for transport with a
foil. This prolongs the life of the battery.

Please remove this foil to prepare the scales for initial use.
Inserting the batter y
The battery is a long-life lithium cell. If the letters "Lo" appear in the display this
means that the batteries need replacing as follows:
1. Open the battery compartment on the back of the scales. Remove the battery.
2. Replace the battery with a cell of the same type „CR 2032". Please ensure the
correct polarity (the side with the type designation CR 2032 is facing upwards)!
3. Close the battery compartment again.
4. If the device is not used for a prolonged period of time, please take the batte-
ries out in order to prevent leakage of battery acid.
5. Different battery types or new and used batteries must not be used together.
Warning: batteries are not to be disposed of together with domestic wastes.
Dispose of the used batteries at the relevant collection bin or at your dealer's.
Never throw batteries into the fi re.
The kitchen balance was developed to display the weight of food and ingredients.
Please choose an appropriate location for your kitchen scales. An ideal place is a
dry, fl at, non-slip surface where the device is readily accessible.

Setting the Time (24 h)
After you have removed the foil from the battery compartment the minutes „:00"
fl ash in the display and the letters „TM" appear.
1. Press or keep the UNIT button held down until the desired minutes fi gure is
reached. Every press of a button is confi rmed by a beep.
2. In order to set the hours, fi rst press the MODE button; the hours display begins
to fl ash.
3. If the UNIT button is pressed once, the display jumps forward by one hour. If
the button is held down, the rapid advance mode starts until the desired time is
reached.
4. To store the time press the MODE button again. The time in the display stops
fl ashing.
