Electric cylinders
Series 1800
Safety
Use
The series 1800 electric cylinder must be used as a device to position a load, as a tool
or as an actuator, with the ability to control speed and position.
Warning
Only use the device in its original and well maintained condition.
Only use the device within the mechanical limits indicated
(see section "Technical Data").
Comply with the application parameters indicated on the identification label
(see section "Identification").
Do not apply changes to the device.
Protect the device from:
• abrasive powders
• UV rays
• sparks or welding debris
• acidic substances, degreasers (in any form)
• humidity
Screw tightening torque
Comply with the indicated torques (see section "Assembly")
Staff training
Assembly, commissioning, maintenance and disassembly must be carried out
by qualified personnel that specialized in electrical/mechanical control.
Use appropriate safety prodecures when manipulating the devices.
Danger of falling loads when assembled
vertically or inclined
The motion of the electric motor to the moving rod is obtai-
ned using a ball screw device, which is highly efficient.
Therefore if the load is moving in vertical direction, and
the electrical supply is removed, the load could fall
uncontrollably due to gravity. Therefore it is recommended
you use a brake system in the electric motor to eliminate
this risk.
Electric cylinder damaged
In case of cylinder damaged (shaft connection or toothed
belt), the load can become out of control.
Hot surface danger
The motors could be very hot.
