3. After the background noise is detected, select the "RUN/STOP" icon once again.
4. The PAA6 will wait for a signal greater than 30 dB over the background noise. A little helpful hint:
the louder the test signal, the greater the accuracy of your RT60 calculation (figure 38).
5. Play pink noise through your audio system (this can be done using the PAA6's signal generator or
an audio test CD). Make sure that if you're sending the pink noise from the PAA6 that the trigger is
set to internal. If you're getting the pink noise from an external source, the trigger should be set to
external.
6. Slowly move the master fader up to a point where the audio level received by the PAA6 is greater
than 30 dB over the background noise. Quickly mute the system to get your RT60 reading as ac-
curate as possible (figure 39).
