ULTRASONIC CLEANING METHODS
DIRECT METHOD
- The cleaning solution is to be poured into the basin.
- Dirty items are to be placed in the perforated basket or suspended.
ADVANTAGES:
- Simple operation
- Effective cleaning
ELEMENTS TO BE ELIMINATED
Blood, tissues, dentine
Alginate, cements, lime

PERFORATED BASKET
DISADVANTAGES:
- Removed dirt is left in the basin
- Only one solution can be used at a time
- Highly acid or caustic solutions can cause corrosion to
the basin surface.

95% water
5% detergent
Others:
93% ÷ 95% water
5% ÷ 7% detergent
