BINOCULAR INSTRUCTIONS MANUAL
I. EYE ADJUSTMENTS (Interpupillary distance IPD)
In order to adjust the distance between the two eyes (IPD):
1. Hold the binoculars in the normal viewing position.
2. Move the barrels inside or outside by grasping each side until you see a single
circular fi eld. (Fig.1)
II. FOCUSING
a) CENTER FOCUS
1. Adjust interpupillary distance.
2. Close your right eye and view an object with your left eye and turn the center
focus wheel until the image is sharp and clear.
3. Open your right eye and close your left eye, then rotate the diopter setting ring
(on the right eyepiece) until the object is sharp and clear. Note the diopter
setting scale for future use. (Fig. 2)
4. With both eyes focused you will only need to use the center wheel to focus on
any other objects at far or near distances.
b) ZOOM BINOCULARS
You can increase or decrease power by using the zoom lever located near
the eyepiece. (Fig. 3)
c) FOCUS FREE BINOCULARS
Focus free binoculars are permanently in focus at all distances requiring no
further adjustment.
d) INDIVIDUAL FOCUS
Individual focus allows each eyepiece to be adjusted individually.
III. WATERPROOF - FOGPROOF
Waterproof binoculars are sealed with an O-ring for water protection. Fog proof
models are nitrogen purged to remove all internal moisture.
IV. EYE CUPS
Your binocular is fi tted with one of the following:
1. Rubber fold down eyecups can be pulled down to view with glasses.
2. Twist-up eyecups that you can turn up for normal viewing and turn down
to view with glasses.
3. Pull-up eyecups for normal viewing or pull down to view with glasses.
V. TRIPOD ADAPTER
If your binocular is equipped with a built in tripod adapter fi tting, you will have to
unscrew the cover screw located at the base of the binocular hinge.
