4.1. Mains connection

Connect only to a single 230V 50Hz current. Connect the unit only to properly earthed power outlets. The
machine can be operated only by an RCD with a maximum rated fault current of 30 mA. Connection: connect
the unit to a power outlet and press the green "RESET" button.
When the red running lamp is lit, the unit is ready for use. Upon each disconnection or in case of power failure,
the unit switches off automatically.
Operating test: press the blue "TEST" button: the unit switches off. Press the "RESET" button: when the red
running lamp is lit, the unit is ready for use. Perform an operating test before each start-up. In case of repeated
failure, have the connected unit checked.
Consider the fact that this circuit breaker cannot substitute for a fundamental safety measure. To avoid any
lethal hazard, always ensure electrical devices are used appropriately.
Reliable protection of persons from hazardous electrocutions. Leak currents are detected in a few fractions of
seconds, and the power supply interrupted immediately. This considerably limits danger for persons and
animals.

5- Operation of the unit

The VIRAFAL® sludge removal unit is an electrically-controlled multifunction device designed for cleaning and
sanitizing.
There are two water and air mix washing cycles:
Pulse cleaning: Pulsating water-compressed air mix (controlled by microprocessor).
Continuous compressed air cleaning: effectively removes sand, rust, grease, and other deposits.
- drinking water pipe: Disinfectant for drinking water ref. 295058
- heating circuit with radiator: Sludge remover ref. 295055
- heating circuit with heated floor / surface heater: Sludge remover/Sanitizer ref. 295056
In addition, heating circuits may additionally be protected with the VIRAFAL® Protection fluid ref. 295057 after
cleaning.
Follow the instructions in the operating manual of the corresponding additive.
6- Installation and operation

6.1. General information

The installation must be located directly downstream an approved fine filter, upstream the bank of dispensers or
any other location allowing for appropriate connection to the pipe network on the one hand and a sewer
connection on the other.
Caution: Beware the flow direction of the sludge removal unit.
1. The hot water production system and/or water treatment devices must be bridged.
2. To ensure drinking water safety, in compliance with the EN 1717 standards, a pipe or system disconnector
must be fitted upstream the rinsing compressor.
3. The installation of final components of the installation (such as mixer, angle valves, etc.) must not have been
performed before the cleaning process.
When flushing valves are present, apply the manufacturer instructions.
4. Connect the drain pipes to the outlet valves while positioning them to ensure they are not bent. Then, the
pipes must be extended to a drain with sufficient dimensions and be fastened properly (otherwise the end of the
pipe is likely to slide in case of major pulse).
5. The maximum length of the cleaning pipes must not exceed 100 m.
6. To protect sensitive valves, always fit a pressure reducer upstream the VIRAFAL® ref. 295052.
7. Sealing of all water pipes installed must be checked.
8. After each use: Completely drain the pipes and sludge removal unit. Avoid any water from remaining in the
pipes and the sludge removal unit. Store the entire assembly in a dry location.
CAUTION: when using additives, refer to the operating manual
of the injector ref. 295051 supplied in standard with version ref. 295053 Complete Virafal® kit.
The following sections concern only so-called mechanical cleaning, without additives.
6.2. Cleaning a domestic installation
1. Flip the switch to Without additive.
2. Press the "On / Off" program key. The compressor fills the air tank automatically.
