Transport and storage
The pump does not require any special transport conditions and is conveniently protected
with adequate packing.
Description of the pump
Gear pumps in steel, cast iron casing and cover, equipped with a safety valve for overload
pressure, for intermittent service, for working with clean oils and gas-oils.
They are equipped with electric motors, as per the European standard in force, with first class
components, and are subjected to rigorous testing.
Installation and assembly
The group should be fixed on a flat, solid surface by means of screws using the holes
on the motor or on the pump casing, depending on the model in order to avoid
unwanted noise and vibrations.
It should be situated as near as possible to the water level in order to obtain a
minimum suction run and reduce load losses.
It should be safe from any possible flooding and well ventilated
Assembly of pipes:
The suction and discharge pipes should have a diameter the same or superior to
-
the inlet of the pump.
They must be hermetic, air intake causes suction loss in the pump.
-
Reduce to a minimum any elbow joints, strangling, as all of them increase flowlosses.
-
Always install a filtering mesh adequate for the fluid to be pumped on the suction
-
pipe.
In installations for pumping fuel, precautions should be taken to maintain the liquid
-
in the pipes
Although it is not absolutely necessary, it is convenient to install a foot valve.
-
Neither the suction nor the discharge pipes should rest their weight on the pump.
