2. Set the desired number of cups as de-
scribed in the section Setting the number of
cups (page 15).
3. Insert a paper filter or a permanent as
described in the section Inserting the filter
(page 15).
4. With the help of the measuring spoon
supplied, fill the filter with the desired amoun
of coffee powder. We recommend approx.
one level measuring spoon of coffee per
125 ml cup (4-6 g). Do not overfill the filte
otherwise coffee could run over (max. 2 cm
underneath the edge of the filter).
5. Press the button (19) to start brew-
ing coffee.

6. When the brewing process has com-
pleted, the "cup" symbol in the display extin-
guishes and an acoustic signal sounds.
NOTE
► The appliance switches itself off auto-
matically after 40 min.
Cancelling the brewing process
1. Press the button (19) or the
ton (17) to cancel the brewing process and
switch off the appliance. The power indicator
(19) extinguishes and the appliance is
switched off.
Preparing coffee using the preset
timer
NOTE
► To brew coffee using the timer, the
clock must be set as described in the sec-
tion Setting the time (page 15).
First prepare the coffee machine for brewing
coffee with coffee beans:
1. Set the number of cups, the strength of
the coffee and the grinding fineness
2. Pour water into the water tank and fill the
coffee bean compartment with coffee beans.

Carry out the following operations after each
use of the appliance in order to retain proper
function of the appliance and prevent mould
from forming:
