BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE THE FIRST TIME
1.
Remove all packaging materials and any transport safety devices. Keep chil-
dren away from the packaging materials due to the danger of suffocation.
2.
Clean all parts as described in the chapter "Cleaning and care".
3.
Check to make sure that the appliance is stable.
4.
Connect the base via the power cord to the power supply (220–240 V~,
50 Hz).
5.
Remove the kettle from the base.
6.
Open the lid by pressing the button at the handle.
7.
Add clear, cold water to the "Max" marking.
8.
Close the lid by pressing lightly.
9.
Place the kettle level on the base.
10. Switch on the kettle by pressing the ON/OFF switch downwards into the
„I"-position. The kettle cannot be switched on if it is not properly seated on
the base.
11. When the water boils, the appliance automatically shuts off.
12. For hygienic reasons, please discard the water from the first boiling.
OPERATION
1.
Remove the kettle from the base.
2.
Open the lid.
3.
Fill the kettle with at least 0.5 liters of water. Do not fill the kettle with more
than 1.7 liters of water ("Max" marking).
4.
Close the lid by pressing lightly.
5.
Place the kettle level on the base.
6.
Switch on the kettle by pressing the ON/OFF switch downwards into the
„I"-position. The kettle cannot be switched on if it is not properly seated
on the base.
7.
When the water boils, the appliance automatically shuts off.
8.
Whenever you take the kettle off the base, the appliance is automatically
switched off, even if the water is not yet boiling.
9.
Of course you may also push the switch into the „O"-position to interrupt
heating.
10. If you want to boil more water, please allow the appliance to cool off for a
few minutes.
11. The appliance features boil dry protection. When operated without water or
with excessive scaling, the appliance shuts off automatically. If this hap-
pens, please allow the appliance to cool off briefly before filling it with water
again or descale the appliance as described in the chapter "Descaling".
