Handling:
With dual chains the middle guide chain must be
closed by redirecting and/or hooking the hook into the guide
chain.
Demounting of anti-skid chains
» Unhook tension spring
» Open tension lever
» Loosen tension chain
» Loosen closing hook (starting on the outside of the wheel)
» Pull chain off of the wheel
Care of chains:
Following the use of the chains, make sure that they dry
rapidly. Mud and dirt-covered chains should be rinsed in
hot water and then dried. Badly corroded chains should be
re-galvanized.
Regular inspection of condition: Turn the chains when one
side of the links is worn down by 1/3 of the wire diameter.
Exception: Chains with welded wear studs.
WARNING
(P7):
The inner side chain is adjustable in two or
three places. This ensures a perfect fit on new or used tires as
well as wide or narrow tires. If the chain is too big, mount it in a
way so some parts hang loose – this way you can shorten the
chain. Make sure that the loose parts are distributed evenly.
Repair (P8)
