Maintenance

Apart from the need for the battery to be replaced, the smoke
alarm is largely maintenance-free. If the alarm sounds briefly at
one minute intervals, the battery is nearing the end of its life
and should be replaced without delay. This warning will
continue for seven days, at which time the battery will be
completely discharged. After that, the alarm will be without any
power supply.
WARNING: If the LED flashes once a minute, this
indicates that the battery is discharged.
IMPORTANT: After replacing the battery, carry out a
function test in accordance with section 7.4.
Replacement date: Smoke alarms should be replaced after ten
years.

Escape plan

We recommend that an escape plan be formulated jointly with
all the occupants of the property. Bear in mind that, in the
event of a fire, the escape route must not be barred by
obstacles under any circumstances. It must also follow the
fastest and safest way out of the building.
