Lumbamed
plus
Intended purpose
The Lumbamed plus is a lumbar support
with pad. The product is exclusively to
be used for the orthotic fitting of the
lower back and only on intact skin.
Areas of use
• Non-specific pain in the area of the
lumbar spine (LS)
• (Repeated) Pain due to attrition in the
area of the LS, e.g. on account of
changes to the intervertebral disks
• Irritations of the sacroiliac joint
• Overstrain injuries in the transitional
area lumbar spine/pelvis
• Weak or unbalanced trunk muscles
(back, abdomen)
Side-Effects / Contraindications
No side-effect is known which
influences the whole body. However, if
supports (or similar aids) are too tight,
this may lead to local pressure effects or
the constriction of blood vessels or
nerves in individual cases. You should
thus consult your doctor in the following
circumstances before applying the
support:
• Diseases or injuries of the skin in the
area of use, especially with
inflammatory symptoms (excessive
warming, swelling or reddening).
Any combination with other products
must be discussed in advance with the
responsible doctor.
Mode of action / Comment on wear
Please note that initial fitting should be
supervised by a healthcare professional.
Lumbamed plus has a stabilising and
relieving effect on the lumbar spine. Its
compressive knitted fabric and the pad

that is used also stimulate circulation
and have a pain-relieving, massage
effect without affecting the muscular
force.
Supports have the greatest effect during
physical exercise. In principal, the
support can be worn all day. The special
cut in the area of the groin (Comfort
Zone) is decisive for the correct and
comfortable fit of the support. However,
this depends on how comfortable the
support is to wear. The support should
be taken off for longer breaks (e.g. sitting
for a long time or a long car drive,
sleeping).
If you suffer excessive pain or discomfort
during wear, please take off the product
immediately and contact your doctor or
specialized shop.
The support is also suitable for use in
water. After use, please rinse out the
product thoroughly.
Putting on / Taking off
• Pull the fabric cover over the massage
pad and secure the pad in the centre or
in accordance with the physician's or
healthcare professional's instructions
on the middle grey Velcro section
between the two rods. The pad should
be secured in such a way that the
bottom end rests against the top of
the area where the two buttocks come
together (Fig. 1+2).
• The label on the right inside of the
fastener provides information about
how to put the support on (Fig. 3).
• First, slip into the wrist strap in the left
inside of the fastener (Fig. 4).
- Wrap the bandage around the body
and then please refer back to the
label to check whether you are
holding the bandage correctly
(Fig. 5).
- Now, slip into the outer wrist strap
on the right side (Fig. 6).
