SELECTING ALL THE AUDIO ZONES
The following procedure is used for selecting all the audio zones (or groups of zones) associated to the numerical keys on the console (from
"1" to "16") in which a microphone announcement, a recorded message, or a recorded tone is to be transmitted.
1) Press the "GENERAL CALL" key (ref. 13 – Fig. 1, page 132). The corresponding LED lights up, and the following message appears on
the display:
The LEDs of the numerical keys (ref. 2 – Fig. 1, page 132) light up in one of the following ways:
• LED flashing, to indicate that the zone or group of zones associated to the numerical key pressed is engaged.
• LED on in continuous mode, to indicate that the zone or group of zones associated to the numerical key pressed is free.
IMPORTANT NOTE
• A group of zones is free when all the zones that compose that group are free. A group of zones is engaged even when only one of the
zones in that group is engaged.
2) To cancel all the selections made, press "CLEAR". The LEDs corresponding to the zone/group selection keys goes off, and the message
preceding the selection reappears on the display (e.g. "COMMUNICATION ON").
IMPORTANT NOTES
• It is not possible to cancel the selection of all the zones (or groups of zones) associated to the numerical keys by re-pressing the "GE-
NERAL CALL" key.
• It is not possible to cancel the selection of single zones (or groups of zones) by pressing the numerical keys on the console.
TRANSMITTING A MICROPHONE ANNOUNCEMENT
The following procedure is used for making an announcement in certain audio zones (or groups of zones) using the console microphone.
1) Select the zones in which you want to make the announcement as described in the section "SELECTING ONE OR MORE AUDIO ZONES",
or in the section "SELECTING ALL THE AUDIO ZONES".
IMPORTANT NOTE
• It is not possible to proceed as indicated in the following point unless at least one zone or group of zones has been selected.
2) Press "ENTER" to send the request to the CP 3100 control unit to use the selected audio zones (or groups of zones). The "ENTER" LED
(ref. 15 – Fig. 1, page 132) and "CLEAR" LED (ref. 7 - Fig. 1, page 132) light up to confirm that the request has been sent. The following
message appears on the display, indicating that you must wait a few seconds while a check is made to see whether the selected zones
(or groups of zones) are free or engaged.
When the check is terminated, one of the following messages appears on the console display:
a.
Indicates that all the zones (or groups of zones) of the current selection are engaged. The "PTT" key is disabled, and it is not possible
to make the announcement. The LEDs of the numerical keys corresponding to the previously selected zones (or groups of zones) flash.
b.
Indicates that only certain zones (or groups of zones) of the current selection are free and immediately available. The LEDs of the nume-
rical keys corresponding to the available zones (or groups of zones) are on continuously, and the LEDs of the numerical keys correspon-
ding to the engaged zones (or groups of zones) flash. The "PTT" key is enabled, and it is possible to send the announcement only in
the zones and/or groups of zones that are available.
c.
Indicates that one or more zones (or groups of zones) of the current selection are unusable due to a fault on a device of the system, whi-
ch is also signalled by the "REMOTE FAULT" LED. The "PTT" key is disabled, and it is not possible to make the announcement.
