INSTALLATION
• Place the appliance on a stable, flat surface that is neither
hot nor near a heat source. The location must be dry.
Keep the appliance and its mains cord out of reach of
children.
• Ensure that the voltage indicated on the rating plate of
the appliance matches that of the country you are in.
Connect the appliance only to a properly earthed power
point with a minimum output of 5 A (Europe) or 8 A (USA).
(Use of a residual current breaker (RCB) is recommended.
Your electrician can advise you.)
For safety reasons, the mains plug must be accessible while
the appliance is in use. The manufacturer declines any
liability for accidents caused by faulty or missing earthing
of the appliance.
• Have the power point changed by a qualified electrician
if it is not compatible with the plug of your appliance.
• This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider
than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this
plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way.
If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the
plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.
Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
• A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord)
is to be provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming
entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
• Longer (detachable power-supply cords or) extension cords
are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
• If an extension cord is used,
1) The marked electrical rating of the extension cord
should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the
appliance and
2) The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not
drape over the countertop or table top where it can be
pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
