4. Remove the battery tray containing the battery from its
packaging. Insert the battery tray in the rear of the lid
assembly, as shown in Figure 4.
5. Position the spout so water will flow into the sink. To run tap
water through the system, turn on the cold water faucet and
pull the diverter pin, as shown in Figure 5.
If the connection leaks when the cold water is turned on,
replace the thin gasket with the thick gasket provided.
After installation, filter life indicator automatically goes through
a diagnostic sequence, flashing the lights five times before
stopping. This resets the filter life indicator to zero, the starting
point for a new cartridge.
It is important that you allow the system to flush 15 minutes in
order to expel trapped air and fine carbon particles remaining
from the manufacturing process.
Your PiMag Deluxe Countertop Water System is designed to let you know when it is
operating at peak performance and when it is time to replace the cartridge.
During operation under optimal conditions the green indicator light will flash. As the
cartridge begins to approach the end of its operating cycle, the yellow light will flash.
This is a good time to order a replacement cartridge if you do not already have one.
A flashing red light indicates that the cartridge requires replacement.
The operation of the filter light should be consistent. If the light appears to work
intermittently — flashing at some times, and not at others — check for a loose
connection or replace the battery.
The PiMag Deluxe filter cartridge has a rated life of 800 gallons or approximately one
year of use in a family of four. Replacing the cartridge and battery as indicated is
important for this system to perform as represented.
If you detect a reduction in flow rate, or any taste or odor prior to the red light flashing,
this is an indication that you will need to change the cartridge more frequently due to the
water quality in your area.
