3.2 Function
The product helps create the most natural possible appearance. The product forms the exterior
finish of a prosthesis. The product is not required for the proper and safe functioning of the pros­
thesis.
The functional shank is shaped by the O&P professional to create the most natural possible
appearance. Streaks, colour differences and small air pockets (up to 1 cm) in the functional
shank are concealed by the functional stocking. These differences, which are due to production
reasons, do not affect the function of the product and therefore do not constitute grounds for
complaints.
