Loosen both clamping levers (29) and adjust the work-
piece thickness with the crank (8) via the gage (9).
Tighten both clamping levers again.
Adjust the contact wheel (16) downward via the star-
knob bolt (28).
Switch the belt grinder and the grinding device on. Adjust
the belt tracking on the belt grinder until the grinding belt
runs centrally on the upper contact wheel (see Instruc-
tion Manual). (GI150/GI1502H).
Guide the workpiece into the grinding device until it is
gripped by the brake wheel (20).
Adjust the contact wheel (16) upward with star-knob
bolt (28) until the grinding belt touches the workpiece.
Run the workpiece through the grinding device and then
check the grinding pattern.
Adjust the contact pressure of the brake wheel with the
clamping lever (10) as required.
If necessary, correct the height adjustment of the brake
wheel and the contact wheel.
If the workpiece is ground unevenly, the parallel-
ism of the brake wheel must be corrected with
adjustment screw (14) and the slope of the contact
wheel with adjustment screw (17). To adjust, loosen
screw (18).
To get a better result when grinding long/heavy work
pieces, loosen the two screws (30), slide the brake unit
back and then tighten the two screws (30) again.
Contact grinding.
Set the workpiece thickness to the maximum value
(5 mm) with the crank.
Remove safety cover (13).
Mount grinding rest (3) and adjust the correct gap clear-
ance. (see Instruction Manual GI150)
Mount the spark guard (2).
Replacing the grinding belt.
Adjust the contact wheel (16) downward via the star-
knob bolt (28).
Replace the grinding belt. (see Instruction Manual GI150)
Adjust the belt tracking as described above.
Adjust the contact wheel and the brake
wheel.Close/mount the safety covers. (see Instruction
Manual GI150)
Extraction device
We recommend the use of an extraction device.
The machine can be connected to an extraction device via
the hose connection sockets. (see Instruction Manual
GI150)

Repair and customer service.
Repairs may be carried out only by qualified per-
sons in conformity with the valid regulations.
For repairs, we recommend our FEIN customer service
centre, the FEIN authorised service centres and FEIN
agencies.
When the machine's power supply cable is damaged, it
must be replaced using a specially prepared power supply
cable, available from your FEIN customer service agent.
The current spare parts list of this machine can be found
on the Internet under www.fein.com.
To extend the service life of the gear unit, replace the
gear unit sealing ring (3 90 00 004 52 3) after 18 months
of operation. Contact the Fein Service.
Daily maintenance
Blow out the cooling-air openings (33) of the motor
housing with compressed air.
Check the brake wheel (20), the contact disc (16) and the
drive disc (32) for wear and damage each time when
replacing a grinding belt. Have damaged parts replaced.
Cleaning the exterior of the machine with compressed
air.
If required, you can change the following parts yourself:
