BEFORE FIRST-TIME USE
There will be a slight smell when the waffle iron is heated for the first time. Ensure that
there is sufficient ventilation, for example open a window. Before baking a waffle for the
first time with your new waffle iron, you must heat it up once without batter.
Possible manufacturing residue will be removed by doing so.
1. Remove all packaging material.
2. Unfold the upper part of the casing.
3. Wipe the waffle plates with a damp cloth.
Caution: The appliance becomes hot during use. If necessary, use oven gloves and only
touch the appliance using the handle provided.
Caution: Place the waffle iron on an even surface that is resistant to heat and splashes.
Fully unwind the power cord before use to prevent overheating.
4. Fold down the upper part of the casing.
5. Turn the temperature control to the lowest setting.
6. Insert the mains plug into an earthed power socket.
7. Turn the temperature control to the highest setting. The red indicator light shows that
the appliance is heating up. After a few minutes the green indicator light will go off.
8. After 5 to 10 minutes turn the temperature control to the lowest setting.
9. Remove the mains plug from the power socket and lift open the upper part of the
casing.
