Problem
The vacuum pump
becomes extreme-
ly hot and swit-
ches off.
Clamping not pos-
sible.
Slide valve [6-1]
stiff.
Possible cause
Insuffi cient supply of cooling air
Mains frequency or mains power
supply outside the tolerance range
Ambient temperature higher than
40 °C
Button valve on the suction plate
faulty
Valve sleeve [6-2] dirty
Remedy
Ensure that the vacuum pump coo-
ling system is not hampered by
dust/dirt.
Clean the ventilation grille,
Maintain the distance specifi ed bet-
ween the air vent slits and the wall
Establish a stable power supply
Stop work
Clean the button valve (see 8 Ser-
vice and maintenance)/
Replace the button valve.
Clean the valve sleeve and apply a
light coat of grease
