To start and stop the blades

1. Pull the lever a short distance rearward and to the
left to loosen it.
2. Push the lever forward. The blades start to rotate.
3. Pull the lever fully rearward and then to the right.
The blades stop.

To start the engine

1. For M125-85FH, make sure that the drive system is
engaged.
2. Make sure that the lever to start and stop the cutting
deck blades is in the locked position.
3. Apply the parking brake. Refer to
release the parking brake, M125-85FH on page 16

4. For M125-85F, put the gearshift lever in the neutral
position (N).

5. Put the throttle control in start position.
a) If the engine is cold, put the throttle control in
position (C), choke position.

b) If the engine is warm, put the throttle control
between positions (A) and (B).

6. Turn the ignition key to the start position.
