Always choose sensors above the capacity of the wrench (e.g. if the wrench
capacity is 36 ft-lb (50 N·m), then select a sensor with a capacity greater
than that.
PROTO® provides a full range of sensors to cover a wide range of torque
values. An appropriate sensor should be selected to ensure the maximum
sensor range exceeds the maximum value of the wrench being tested. For
greatest accuracy choose the sensor closest to the desired test value.

MounTinG
These Torque Sensors are designed for stand alone use, or for use with
PROTO® J657B Torque Bench.
Ensure the sensor is mounted securely using the provided screws, which
should be fastened to the specifed tightening torque.
3.3.1 Torque BenCH J657B
Sensor can only be mounted vertically.
Ensure fastening screws are tightened to the relevant torque (See Section 4.
Specifications on page 7 for more information).
3.3.2 SurFACe MounTinG
This device can be mounted to a secure work surface.
1.
Choose a secure work surface capable of resisting the applied torque without
tipping over or collapsing.
2.
Align sensor on work surface to ensure ease of access to the drive square, and
allowing for rotation of the wrench handle.
Drill suitable fastening holes. (See Section 4. Specifications on page 7 for
3.
more information.)
