2 Safety Notes

The units (speakers and power supply unit) corre-
spond to all required directives of the EU and are
therefore marked with
WARNING The power supply unit uses danger-
ous mains voltage. Leave servicing to
skilled personnel only. Inexpert han-
dling or modification of the unit may
result in electric shock.
Please observe the following items in any case:

The units are suitable for indoor use only. Protect
them against dripping water and splash water,
high air humidity and heat (admissible ambient
temperature range 0 – 40 °C).

Do not place any vessel filled with liquid on the
units, e. g. a drinking glass.

Do not operate the units or immediately discon-
nect the mains plug from the socket
1. if the speaker, the power supply unit or the
mains cable is visibly damaged,
2. if a defect might have occurred after a unit was
dropped or suffered a similar accident,
3. if malfunctions occur.
In any case the units must be repaired by skilled
personnel.

Never pull the mains cable to disconnect the
mains plug from the socket, always seize the plug.

For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; never use
water or chemicals.

other purposes than originally intended, if they
are not correctly connected or operated, or if they
are not repaired in an expert way.
If the units are to be put out of operation
definitively, take them to a local recycling
plant for a disposal which will not be harm-
ful to the environment.
3 Applications
This compact active speaker set is suitable for Hi-
Fi applications, as a monitoring system in home
recording studios, for AV presentations on the com-
puter, TV set or projector and for all other applica-
tions in small rooms.
Each speaker system is equipped with a 10 cm
bass-midrange speaker and a 1.27 cm dome
tweeter. The speakers are magnetically shielded.
The right speaker system is additionally provided
with an amplifier and with facilities to adjust the vol-
ume and the tone.
The amplifier features protection circuits against
short circuit and overload.

4 Setting Up and Connecting

Set up the speakers on a flat surface and turn them
towards the audience.
Each speaker system offers two 6.35 mm (
threaded jacks on its lower side as a mounting pos-
sibility.
4.1 Connecting the left speaker system
Connect the amplifier output (9) on the rear side of
the right speaker system via a speaker cable to the
terminals of the left speaker system. Observe the
polarity (connect the terminals of the same colour).
4.2 Connecting the signal source
Connect the output of a signal source with line level
(e. g. CD player, output of a mixer, line output of a
computer or TV set) to the RCA jacks INPUT (7) on
the rear side of the right speaker system (L = left
channel, R = right channel).

4.3 Power supply

Connect the low-voltage plug of the power supply
unit to the power supply jack (6) on the rear side of
the right speaker system and its mains plug to a
socket (230 V~/50 Hz). The LED on the power sup-
ply unit will light up.
