1 Applications
This gooseneck lamp is a damped light
source to be dimmed, suitable e. g. for audio
units installed into an operating console
(disco system).
2 Safety Notes
The lamp and the plug-in power supply unit
correspond to the directive for electromagne-
tic compatibility 89/336/EEC. The plug-in
power supply unit additionally corresponds
to the low voltage directive 73/23/EEC.
Attention!
The power supply unit uses lethal mains
voltage (230 V~). In order to prevent a
shock hazard, do not open it. Leave ser-
vicing to authorized, skilled personnel only.
Furthermore, any guarantee claim expires
if the plug-in power supply unit or the lamp
has been opened.
It is necessary to observe in any case the
following items:
The lamp and the power supply unit are
only suitable for indoor use. Protect them
against dripping water and splash water,
high air humidity, and heat (admissible
ambient temperature range 0 – 40 °C).
Even if the lamp is dimmed completely
dark, the power supply unit connected to
the mains has a low current consumption.
Do not set the lamp into operation, and
immediately disconnect the power supply
unit from the mains socket if:
1. damage at the lamp or power supply
unit can be seen,
2. a defect might have occurred after a
drop or similar accident,
3. there are malfunctions.
In any case the lamp and the power supply
unit must be repaired by authorized, skil-
led personnel.
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth. Do
not use any chemicals or water.
If the lamp or the power supply unit is used
for purposes other than originally intended,
if they are operated in the wrong way or not
repaired by authorized, skilled personnel,
there is no liability for possible damage.
If the lamp and the power supply unit are
to be put out of operation definitively, take
them to a local recycling plant for a dis-
posal which is not harmful to the environ-
ment.
3 Setting into Operation
1) Slide the lamp into the standing base (6)
or into the bracket (7) fixed by screws
before.
2) Connect the plug (5) of the lamp to the
inline jack (4) of the power supply unit.
Observe the correct polarity (see circle of
fig. on page 3). In case of wrong polarity
the lamp remains dark.
3) Connect the power supply unit to a mains
socket (230 V~/50 Hz), and adjust the
desired brightness with the rotary control
(3). Adjust the gooseneck.
4) Draw off or slide on the glare shield (1) as
required.
5) If the lamp is not used for a longer period
of time, disconnect the power supply unit
from the mains socket as it always has a
low current consumption.
4 Replacing of the Bulb
1) Disconnect the power supply unit from
the mains socket, and let the bulb cool
down, if required.
2) Draw off the glare shield (1).
3) Screw off the front part (2) of the lamp
head.
4) Draw out the bulb and replace it (replace-
ment lamp: 12 V/5 W with bayonet socket,
e. g. item HLO-700 by MONACOR).
5) The assembly is made in reverse order.
