Connection examples for float switches

Connection examples for float switches are shown below.
The specified switching capacity, switching voltage, and switching current must not be exceeded. Direct
operation on electrical circuits with inductive or capacitive loads is not permitted.
Inductive load
When connecting inductive loads, the switching contact (S) must be protected with a free-wheeling diode
or an RC element.
According to chapter 6.1 "Electrical connection", Page 14, the safety device (F) must be selected.
Alternating voltage
Capacitive load
When connecting capacitive loads, the switching contact (S) must be protected with a resistor.
Alternating voltage current limiting (current peaks), e.g. for an electronic relay

Direct voltage current limiting, e.g. for SPS, PLC, and lines
