Do the ice cubes have an unusual odour?
Ice is a porous material which can absorb odours
from the environment. Ice cubes which have been in
the ice cube container for a long time may absorb
odours, stick together and slowly become smaller.
We recommend that old ice cubes not be used.
Other means of preventing odors:
>
The ice cube container should be cleaned occa-
sionally with warm water. Make sure that you switch
off the ice maker before clearing the container. Rinse
out and wipe dry.
>
Check the contents of the freezer for spoiled or out-
of-date food. All odorous foods should be wrapped
thoroughly or stored in airtight containers to prevent
the build-up of odors.
>
The water filter may have to be replaced in some
models.
>
In some cases the quality of the water connection
in the house should be checked.
