UHF GL

only available for the Nebula 8S
Alter programming all the UHF filters, the Global Gain of the bank of filters is represented:
GL. This menu modifies the level equally to all the filters. This attenuator is the one that is
controlled by the AGC (Automatic Gain Control) when it is enabled. The available range of
values is between 1 and 20. By default is 20.
Press OK to edit the value and
Press

UHF AUTO Lev

The "Automatic Output Level" screen will show the level the amplifier will try to get in the
autolevel process.
The equipment calculates which the maximum value at output is recommended depending on
the model and the number of channels. If you press OK it will adjust automatically the gain of
all the UHF filters to reach the output level. The units are in dB V.
This recommended level of output can be modified, but it is not recommended to increase it without checking with
the field meter for loss of signal quality.
Press the
keys to modify the value and confirm with OK key.
The output level range of the amplifiers in automatic mode is as follows:
-
Nebula 6:
96 – 116 dB V
-
Nebula 8S:
96 – 120 dB V
Press
to access the next screen.

UHF AUTO AGC

This screen allows activating or deactivating the Automatic Control Gain. This function
monitories constantly the output level of the equipment in order to get the output level
constant, although the input level varies
By default this option is disabled (off). To enable it, press OK to access the option and change the value to (on)
with the
keys. Confirm pressing OK again.
At the moment of activating the AGC can appear 3 options:
-
AGC
on:
AGC is activated and works fine.
- AGC
low:
The level of the signals in the AGC stage is low. This problem appears when the input
level of the signal is low. Check the gain adjustment or install a preamplifier.
- AGC
hi:
The level of the signals in the AGC stage is high. The problem appears when the input
level of the signals is high. Please, check the gain adjustment, set to off the AMP stage to reduce the gain
of the amplifier or add a external attenuator.
It is very important to note that when this function is activated it is not possible to
access the programming menu of the equipment.
When you try to access the programming, a message will appear on the screen indicating
that AGC is activated. Press OK again and leave the option (off) to program the equipment.
