Place the furnace on a flat, firm, vibration-free surfa-
ce close to an extractor hood. Ensure that the furnace
is well away from any flammable materials.
Place the unit so that its sides are at least 15 cm from
any wall or other object. Take particular care to place
the ventilation tube in a free area at least 20 cm from
the closest object.
Always use gloves and tongs to remove and put in
cylinders and crucibles. Do not touch the metal hou-
sing of the furnace when it may be hot.
Handle heated materials removed from the furnace
with great care: their temperature may be as high as
1100 ºC and may therefore cause accidents.
Before using the furnace for the first time, hold it at
300 ºC for 1 hour to eliminate any moisture in the
muffle.
Always use the furnace under an extractor hood.
