Velometer correction factors
TEMPERATURES AND PRESSURE
The maximum temperature of the air or gas that can be tested by the
Velometer is 250°F (120°C). When the temperature of the gas inside a
duct is appreciably different from the density at which the Velometer was
calibrated, a correction factor may be needed to obtain the most accurate
measurement. The actual velocity is obtained by multiplying the
measured velocity by a correction factor as shown in the figure below.
