4 Application
4.1 How to put the PediSupport.night on:
1. Loosen all fasteners and put the foot with flexed knee into the splint in
order to achieve the desired dorsal flexion degree.
2. Close the ankle belt. Adjust the hook- and loop fastener to comfortable
length. Do not pull the belt too tight.
3. Put the foot belt on. Close the foot belt, then the calf belt.
4. Extend the knee in order to check the proper fit of the ankle- and foot
belt. If needed, readjust the hook- and loop fasteners. Repeat steps 2 and
3 as needed.
5. The supporting belt for dorsal flexion can be adjusted in steps in order to
increase or decrease the foot angle. If discomfort appears, a step-by-step
adjustment may be necessary.
4.2 Precaution Advice
1. The patient should be instructed to check calf, foot and ankle
for irritations prior to and after wearing the night splint, and
also to check the night splint itself for damages.
2. Attempts to walk or putting load on the foot while wearing the
night splint must be avoided without permit of the physician.
The night splint is not designed for this kind of strain.
3. Do not wear the night splint outdoor or on slippery or uneven
ground.
