Installing a Cordless Headset (Optional)
The 5540 IP Console supports the Jabra GN Netcom GN9350e Cordless
Headset (Part Number: 9326-607-405). For details on how to operate these
headsets, please refer to the manufacturer's documentation.
The GN9350e is comprised of a base station and a cordless headset. The 5540
IP Console also requires a cable for wireless integration to the 5540 IP Console.
You must order the GN Cordless Headset Cable from Mitel as a separately
purchased part (Mitel Part Number: 50006212).
You can connect the GN9350e base station to the 5540 IP Console in one of two
ways: in operational mode or training mode.
Installing the Cordless Headset for Operational Mode
1. Unplug the handset cord from the 5540 IP Console.
2. Plug the console handset cord into the handset port of the cordless base
station.
3. Plug the base's telephone cord to the handset port of the 5540 IP Console.
4. Connect the jack for cordless support into the AUX port of the cordless
base station using the GN Cordless Headset Cable ordered from Mitel.
Installing the Cordless Headset for Training Mode
1. Unplug the handset cord from the 5540 IP Console.
2. Plug the console handset cord into the headset port of the 5540 IP
Console.
3. Plug the base station's telephone cord to the handset port of the 5540
IP Console.
4. Connect the jack for cordless support into the AUX port of the cordless
base station using the GN Cordless Headset Cable ordered from Mitel.

WHEN PROGRAMMING EMERGENCY NUMBERS AND (OR) MAKING
TEST CALLS TO EMERGENCY NUMBERS
• Remain on the line and briefly explain to the dispatcher the reason for the
call.
• Perform tests during off-peak hours such as early morning or late
evenings.
