1 INTRODUCTION
a. Importance of the manual
This INSTRUCTION MANUAL is your guide to INSTALLING, USING and carrying out MAINTENANCE on the machine you have purchased.
Please heed all the advice it contains, as the serviceability and useful life of the machine depend on proper use and methodical observance of the maintenance instructions
below. You are reminded that in case of difficulty our AFTER-SALES SERVICE department is at your entire disposal for any information or possible intervention you may need.
Consequently, the manufacturer accepts no liability for improper use or inadequate maintenance of the machine.
The INSTRUCTION MANUAL forms an integral part of the machine. Please keep it for the duration of the equipment's lifetime. Check that all updates send by the
manufacturer are incorporated into the manual. Pass the manual on to its users and to the future owner of the machine.
Use the manual in such a way as not to damage it in any way. Do not remove, tear out or rewrite any part of the for any reason whatsoever. Keep the manual in a cool dry place.
Read all the operating instructions, safety guidelines and warnings in the instruction manual.. Never use the machine in an inappropriate manner and always follow
the manufacturer's advice. The manufacturer reserves the right to update the technical specifications in this manual without notice.
b. General information
-A sand blaster machine is a pneumatic tool subject to the general rules of the worksite where it is to be used: hygiene, safety, etc.
This tool is to be entrusted to persons designated by name, who shall be responsible for their maintenance and proper operation.
They should wear clothing and protective equipment suitable for bad weather, projections of abrasive material, noise, the risk of falls and dust emissions. The sand-blasting
machines comply with European legislation, namely EC directives 2006/42 and 97/23. Requalification of the tank is mandatory EVERY TEN YEARS

3° SECURITY RECOMMENDATIONS
3a Preliminary recommendations:
- Check the ground stability of the sand-blaster before starting to fill it.
- Each time the unit is to be started up, first check that the air and sand pipes* are in good condition, the couplings and nozzle-holder correctly fastened to the pipe, the
couplings correctly connected together, the condition of the nozzle and nozzle-holder threads, all tightness items, and the start/stop or emptying valves.
*Checking the condition of the sandblasting hoses is essential. It allows to measure their degree of wear. This wear is intrinsically linked to the passage of the abrasive. In some
cases, it can be amplified by certain handlings of the sandblasting hose, especially if too marked elbows are formed either when handling the end of the lance or at the exit of
the sandblasting machine.
- Make sure that all the coupling joints are in place and in good condition.
- Never use a projection hose other than the sand-blasting hose.
- All units are tested to work at a MAXIMUM PRESSURE indicated on the signaletic's card. Do not supply them with higher pressures.
- Do not fill the top part of the sand-blaster with abrasive material (above the closing cone).
3b Recommendations during use
- Use always an abrasive material adapted to sand-blasting; this material must be dry and properly calibrated.
- Do not perform any servicing operations on the sand-blaster without having first closed the air supply.
- Ensure that the compressor is not in the sandblasting area and is protected from the risk of dust suction.
- During sandblasting operations, make sure not to form too sharp bends with the sandblasting hose especially at the end of the lance and at the sandblasting
machine outlet.
- Do not remove the sand-blasting nozzle without having depressurised the vessel.
- Never disconnect a pipe while the vessel is under pressure.
- Do not stop the compressor without having first depressurised the vessel.
- Never pressurise an air hose unless it is connected to the blaster.
- Always hold the end of the sand-blasting pipe on the nozzle side, and direct it towards the area to be sand-blasted, before putting the vessel under pressure.
- Never use a sand-blaster for purposes for which it was not designed.
- Never direct the sand-blasting lance towards a person, an animal, a vehicle or any other object not intended to be sand-blasted.
- Do not use the air piping or sand-blasting pipes in order to move the sand-blaster.
- Empty the vessel before moving it.
- Never leave a sand-blaster under pressure if the operator has to leave
- Routinely check that the safety devices equipping the sand-blaster are in place and in good working order.
- When filling the sand-blaster, make sure that no foreign bodies, other than the selected abrasive material, fall into the vessel.
- Routinely check that the nozzle is screwed solidly into the nozzle-holder and that the latter item is properly fastened on the pipe.
- Routinely check the condition of the threads of the nozzle and the nozzle-holder. In case of wear and tear, replace immediately.
- The operator's equipment must include:
1 protection of tehe face, 1 breathable air filter, 1 pair of gloves 1 set of protective clothing such as overalls, 1 pair of anti-slip shoes
- Never use glass in front of the eyes on the helmets, only unbreakable materials such as polycarbonate.
- It is recommended that the abrasive material be stored indoors in order to limit the risk of condensation (mainly in plastic bags).
At the end of the day, it is highly recommended that the sand-blaster be emptied.
-Change cartridge very regularly. The lifetime of the cartridge depends on the maintenance of the compressor.
4 CHARACTERISTICS
4a Intended use
A sand-blasting machine is a piece of pneumatic equipment that projects abrasive material at a given pressure. Never use it for any other purpose.
4b characteristics
With a capacity of 8 liters, COLIBRI is easy to handle and to transport and especially developed for use of very fine media.
COLIBRI is fitted with a mano-regulator allowing a pression of USE BEETWEEN 2 AND 7 BARS. COLIBRI is provided with a small diameter nozzle (Ø 2, 3 or 4
mm). Take care to use a media size available for the diameter of the nozzle.
Humidity of compressed air can be found in the form of condensation by a physical phenomenon caused by the compression and the expansion of the air. A decanting glass is
placed on the entry of the machine in order to collect this humidity and is equipped with a drain cock in the lower part.
If you are using a sandblasting helmet with an independante filter, this filter must be supplied with a compressed air as close in quality as breathing air (according to
Norm EN12021). The maintenance of the filter (change of cartridge) must take place regularly. The maintenance of the compressor is essential for the quality of the air delivered
at the entry of the filtering device.
