Wheeled Forearm Walkers
Intended Use
Walking Frames are designed to be used by those with poor balance and/or weak legs. A walking frame
can transfer a larger proportion of the user's weight through the arms when compared to a walking stick.
This weight re-distribution from legs to arms can help reduce leg pain and aid mobility.
The Days Forearm Walker 200RC is manufactured from anodised aluminium tubing and fitted with
forearm resting troughs and plastic hand grips. It has two 5cm (2˝) front castor wheels and two rear
rubber tips. The angle of the handgrips can be adjusted, an Allen key is provided to tighten the handle
tubes after adjustment.
Height Adjustment
To adjust the frame height press the two buttons in (fig. 1). Push the leg in and turn slightly. Adjust the
leg to the required position, then turn and relocate, ensuring buttons are protruding through the holes.
Repeat the height adjustment procedure for all frame legs ensuring they are at the same height. When
the frame height is correct the user should be able to maintain an upright posture whilst resting their
forearms in the troughs.
Usage
Walking
Place the frame on the ground one step ahead and walk towards it using the affected leg first,
followed by the other leg, which should then step through. Make sure you do not walk too far into
the frame area. When steady, lift the frame (push if using frame with wheels) a short distance forward
and repeat the process.
Getting up and sitting down chairs
To sit down, with the frame turn around in front of the chair and feel it behind you with your legs, then
place hands gently on the chair arms, bend slightly forwards and gently sit down.
To get up, position the frame in front of the chair, then get up by pushing on the arms of the chair,
transferring hand to frame when fully standing.
Care & Cleaning
The Days Walking Frames are designed for minimum maintenance. Manufactured from anodised
aluminium tubing they require the occasional wipe-over with a soft cloth. Do not use harsh
abrasive materials.
If disinfection is required, clean as above and wipe over with a solution of 1,000 parts per million
available chlorine disinfectant (haz tabs/precept), rinse and dry. Decontamination process that involves
immersion is not recommended.
