The device may be used only for the purposes specified here.
Maintenance. Use only original Dräger spare parts for repair.
Observe the section "Maintenance intervals". We recommend that you
sign a maintenance contract with the DrägerService branch responsible
for your area.
Liability for proper function or damage. The liability for the proper
function of the device is irrevocably transferred to the owner or operator
if the device is serviced or repaired incorrectly by personnel not em-
ployed or authorised by DrägerService or if the device is used in a
manner not conforming to its intended use. Dräger cannot be held
responsible for damages resulting from non-compliance with the above
notes. The warranty and liability provisions of the terms of sale and
delivery are not extended by the above notes.

Intended Use
The test case Porta Control
is used for testing chemical protection

for leaks.
It contains all components required for testing a protection suit and its
valves for leaks. It does not contain the compressed-air gun (see the
Order List).

This must be done each time before a chemical protection suit is
tested.
Open the test case and place it on a flat, level surface.
1 Seal one end of the testing hose with a plug.
2 Slide a hose clamp over the hose.
4 Connect the pump ball, observing the direction of the arrow
marked on it.

3 Set the stopwatch
to 1 minute.
2 Open the hose clamp.
4 Pump out air with the pump ball to achieve a vacuum of 10 mbar.
Take care not to overload the manometer!
Close the hose clamp and wait about 15 seconds for the system to
settle down.
Read off the manometer indication and start the stopwatch.
After the specified testing time, read off the manometer indication
again.
The Porta Control is ready for use if no vacuum change can be
detected.
If the vacuum changes:
Apply soapy water to the joints to localise the leak. Repair any leaks
and repeat the leak test.
