ATVS100 ATV Spreader
A multipurpose spreader designed to distribute feed,
seed, and other free flowing materials while mounted
on an ATV.
Tools Needed:
• (2) 10mm Wrenches and/or Sockets
Mounting Instructions
Note: Restrictor Plate (item 2) comes preinstalled on the
Hopper (item 1).
1. Insert the shaft of the Motor Assembly (item 4) through
the bushing at the bottom of the Hopper (item 1). Use (4)
M6 x 20 bolts, M6 flat washers, and lock nuts to loosely
attach the Motor Assembly to the Hopper (see Fig. 1).
Tighten the locknuts only after all 4 bolts are installed.
2. Put the connector end of the motor wire through the
hole in the hopper shown in Fig. 1 and install the grommet
to keep any material from falling out.
3. Use a cotter pin to attach the Spinner Disc (item 3) to
the motor shaft (see Fig. 1).
4. Use (4) M6 x 40 bolts, M8 flat washers, and lock nuts to
attach the Hopper Assembly to the Straight Frame Tubes
(item 5) (see Fig. 2).
5. Use (2) M6 x 45 bolts and locknuts to attach the Control
Spacer (item 8) and the Control Handle Assembly (item 7)
to the frame (see Fig. 2).
6. Insert bent end of Control Rod (item 9) into Restrictor
Plate (item 2) (see Fig. 1).
7. Detach the Control Handle (7a) from the Control Plate
(item 7b) by undoing the wing nut, then insert the flattened
end of the Control Rod into the handle (see Fig. 2).
Reattach the handle to the plate using the wing nut.
8. Place spreader on the ATV rack and use (2) M6 x 40
bolts to attach the Crossmember (item 6) to the Straight
Frame Tubes (see Fig. 2). You may need to feed the Tubes
through the rack's upright crossmember. Make sure the
Frame Tubes and Crossmember line up with sections of
the ATV's rack. Note: There are two mounting positions
for the Crossmember, A and B (see Fig. 2). Use whichever
position lines up best with a section of the rack.
9. Fasten spreader frame to the ATV rack using the
U-bolts, washer plates, lock washers and lock nuts.
10. Connect the Wire Harness (item 10) to the motor and then
plug the accessory adapter into the ATV's accessory plug.
Installation Instructions
Vehicle tailpipe temperatures can exceed 500° F. Ensure that
the vehicle tailpipe is properly shielded so that material cannot
contact or rest on any portion of the exhaust system.
Operating Instructions
1. Close the Restrictor Plate completely by pushing the
Control Handle forward.
2. Load material into the Hopper and put on the Rain Cover.
3. Adjust the opening of the Restrictor Plate using the
wing nut and plastic spacer in the slot on the Control
Handle Assembly to increase or decrease the amount of
material being spread.
4. Turn the "ON/OFF" switch to the "ON" position. While
moving, use the Control Handle to open the Restrictor
Plate and begin spreading material.
PLEASE NOTE
1. Take precautions to operate the ATV in a safe manner.
Follow precautions and guidelines as outlined in the ATV
Owner's Manual.
2. Spinner should rotate counter clockwise.
3. In the event the spreader motor is not operating, check fuse
in accessory adaptor and replace if blown.
4. Clean the hopper and brackets after use. Some material can
cause corrosion to metal parts, thus reducing the life of the
Spreader Assembly.
