Operate the switch on the light box
Operate the LED light switch on the light box to con rm
the light is working. Leave the light box attached to the
main unit when examining translucent specimens.

Install a lens plate in the main unit
There are 3 di erent lens
plates. The product comes
with the medium-
magni cation lens plate B
already installed. Change
the installed orientation of
the lens plate to match
the position of the camera on your smartphone.

Use the focus adjustment thumbwheel to
raise the main unit slightly
Turn the focus adjustment thumbwheel on the side of
the main unit and con rm it raises and lowers the
smartphone platform.
Then, turn the thumbwheel to raise the smartphone
platform slightly.

Place the smartphone on the Smartphone
Microscope
Activate the camera mode on the smartphone, and hold
the smartphone so its camera lens is aligned above the
lens on the Smartphone Microscope.
Slowly lower your smartphone down onto the platform,
making sure to keep the round lens of the Smartphone
Microscope in the center of the smartphone display.

Place the specimen under the lens
Place the specimen you
wish to examine onto a
blank slide , and adjust the
position of the slide so your
specimen is aligned under
the Smartphone
Microscope lens.

Adjust the focus
Turn the focus adjustment thumbwheel to bring the
specimen into focus. When the specimen is almost in focus,
adjust the brightness and focus settings on the smartphone.
If this does not bring your specimen into proper focus, try
turning the focus adjustment thumbwheel again.
